It takes its name from the Fort York branch of the Toronto Public Library, which shares its block, and its coloured glass panels are meant to look like a row of books on a shelf. Shops line the street level. Most amenities are in the Author's Club, a separate glass pavilion on three levels that looks onto the park. It holds a party room with a kitchen and bar, a gym, change rooms with saunas, a media lounge and a boardroom, with outdoor terraces attached. Guest rooms, visitor parking and a 24-hour concierge are also offered. Fees include heat, water, air conditioning, building insurance and upkeep of shared spaces. Fort York National Historic Site is directly across the street, Mouth of the Creek Park is beside the building, and the 511 Bathurst streetcar stops about two minutes away.
